This landscape was designed alongside the renovation and expansion of the University of California, Riverside (UCR)'s ‘Historic Barn’ Event Center. The 2-acre site carves out new creative spaces for students to study or relax in an exterior garden environment, shaded by the dappled light of tree canopies above. The plant palette consciously utilizes drought-resistant and low-maintenance species and incorporates a dry boulder swale. The project addresses connections with the UCR campus as a whole by preserving a large portion of the existing Citrus grove and linking existing corridors.
