Melrose Gathering Place Weaver’s Walk Feature

Our Weaver's Walk project is under construction!
We're excited to be working with the City of West Hollywood on a new lively civic space! Located in the West Hollywood Design District, Melrose Gathering Place ‘Weaver’s Walk’ pays vivid homage to the Design District’s textile industry, while creating ample moments for visitors to become immersed within a block-long urban pocket park.
An ADA-accessible permeable path sweeps through the pollinator gardens, creating a more intimate garden experience that includes boulder seating and custom heavy timber benches. Melrose Gathering Place is an impactful urban habitat garden that increases site permeability and overhead shade canopy while providing the neighborhood with a place of respite.
Rising above the grove of Redbuds, Davis’s eighteen-foot-tall, bright pink figural sculpture Before Picasso is evocative of West African Guro loom pulleys, while the ‘Weaver’s Walk’ foot path below features graphic patterning typical of West African Guro cloth textiles.
