Lawlen Residence

Beverly Hills, CA

A residence perched atop a hill in Beverly Hills with views out to the ocean and to Downtown L.A. underwent a major renovation, creating an opportunity to reinvigorate the landscape. In addition to new plantings throughout the terraced garden rooms, six new fountains were added to highlight entry points, soften spaces, and add the sound of water throughout the site.

On the hillside, a skywalk was constructed to provide a strolling garden over uninhabitable terrain. A lawn terrace at one end and a limestone terrace at the other, linked by a winding wood boardwalk, provide seating areas removed from the bustle of the houses in an elevated setting amongst the tree canopy.
