Colorado Center

With six separate structures over a subterranean parking garage, the Colorado Center complex continuously competes for tenants. Real estate developer and operating company Tishman Speyer Properties looked to PB&Co as a partner on immediate as well as on-going projects to create an environmentally-appropriate design that focused on employee-centric amenities and water-wise planting. Initial projects updated the water-demanding, outmoded aesthetics of the original 1980’s complex with two new pedestrian entries that more effectively engaged pedestrians and visitors.

Water features, lighting, signage, and an ADA ramping system were added as well as decorative and adjustment strategies for a large delivery dock. Large lawn areas were replaced with shrubs and grasses that conveyed movement, color and intrigue using the idea of green to gold: California is green only three months of the year; then it is golden.

Blonde grasses with characteristic movement were utilized and a two-acre park on the edge of the development was opened up to serve as a welcoming point to the Center.
